Invisible bus stops | Tuesday, September 27, 2005 |
Ok, so the bus stop for the return journey is outside the railway station but seemingly devoid of signage. Still, last night it had stopped raining so the short walk up the hill to the next one was not to onerous.
Someone had obviously taken a dislike to the sign itself though; it was covered in red and white safety tape where something heavy (like a bus) had bent it in half and torn up the concrete surrounding its mouting.
There was laundery trauma this morning when the machine didn't accept the $2 coin needed to coax it into life. A quick ninja death glance solved that problem.
No Parrot-things today, and I didn't fancy the morning run (partly due to the psychological impact of getting up before 6am and largely to do with the rain), but I did manage to identify what birds make the loud, throaty hooting sound that I've heard all over the place. Ok, perhaps identify is pushing it; I know what they look like (quite large, black and white and fly a bit like swallows or similar birds that stop flapping at the apex of a curve then glide for a brief period).
Perhaps I'll re-train as an Ornithologist given my successes so far.
