Something amazing every day | Monday, October 03, 2005 |
Every day is filled with wonder at the moment and mostly it's to do with animals. We had a close encounter with a pair of the parrot-things this morning after coming back from our run (and bracing, post run swim in the sea at about 0715 this morning)

A pair of Parrot-things chirping away on the balcony railing. Now, that's something that you don't see in London.
Walking back to the flat last night we stumbled (not literally) on a small, somewhat shy penguin (Small Blue Penguin). The other day it was a (we think), Bandicoot. Have yet to see a "Gloomy Octopus", but we're about to head to Manly Oceanworld, so fingers crossed.
The circuitous trip to Ruxcon on saturday had it's own avian ligger somewhere in the nether regions of the ITS campus. Not sure what it is, but it's quite large (think fat chicken), and was last seen pilaging the garbage cans in the park.

As I write this, there's a large white parrot-thing (Cockatoo?) making altogether far to much noise in the tree across the road.
