Doin' it in the park, French style! | Friday, January 20, 2006 |
St. George, one of the retail banks here are sponsoring a season of outdoor cinema, and last night the Frenchies were showing us how a good cop drama is made.
36 Quai Des Orfevres (think Scotland Yard) covers the professional rivalry between two policemen in their hunt for a armed gang whose forte is nabbing armoured cars. Gérard Depardieu, probably the only French actor that most of us know plays one, Daniel Auteuil another. Moderately violent, a few twists and turns and a good old story about the ends justifying the means.
The rain held off until the last moment too and the venue food was a notch above average for this type of thing. In a couple of weeks were off to see Team America: World Police* so that should be a good night out too.
* not true. Its actually Trans America
