Dubbo has apparently, a rather fine open-air wildlife park (or Safari Park) as we'd call it in the UK. She was most impressed.
On to Parkes and it's big radio telescope (as featured in the film 'The Dish'). Sixty four meters in diameter and amongst other things the telescope used to identify the first Quasar (seriously loud emitter of radio energy and with the closest about 780 million light years away, pretty distant) way back in 1963.
