In my last post I said that the large waves had chased me off the beach following the move into the new apartment.
Well the same was true yesterday - about the waves. Nevertheless that didn't stop some people. According to the Herald, waves of 8m battered the coast. The surfers say four metres. Whoever was right, the pictures from the paper below are quite dramatic.
As we went off to the supermarket a small crowd gathered on the beach to watch a helicoptor rescue of a surfer about 1km out so sea.
