The big waves that I mentioned earlier caused a bit of a mess at Queenscliff pool (the one across the road from us). At the far end of the pool are some railings designed to keep people away from the water intake gubbins and presumably to try and ensure that they're not swept away by waves.Well, their not really so effective anymore. The waves have brought in loads of seaweed (actually covering the entire bottom of the pool). These clumbs then got caught in the rainings so that the sea instead of gushing through was hitting in effect a kelpy, brick wall.
In any case of water Vs. something else, the something else normally comes of second best. In this case on 10 foot section of railings are now bent backwards at almost 90 degrees.
