Sarah and Greg came over for lunch today. For them, the journey envolves a short ferry ride from Circular Quay to Manly. During peak hours (which include weekends) Sydney Ferries Corporation runs two services on that route, the normal ferry which takes 30 minutes, and the "Manly Jetcat" catameran which only takes 15 minutes.

So, on they get and out past Fort Dension (which incidentally is the measurement station for Sydney's tides) some fellow attempts to jump overboard. Sarah says that she commented that the guy looked like he was going to jump and then moments later, he did. By all accounts, this clearly was not an accident and the weighted belt would seem to support this assertion.

Other passengers grabbed him and hauled him back to deck in an exercise in human spirit but it was, by most meaures an eventful trip.
