A winters tale

Monday, May 22, 2006

For the first time it feels as though there will not only be a winter, but that it's fast approaching.

By 1715 it was dark and the relatively clear day had given way to broody dark purple clouds. At Gillian's request I kicked her out of the car at Balgowlah so that she could run the four or so kilometers back to home.

Though not initally heavy, the rain set in almost immediately and she was a bit soggy when she got home. While writing this, there are stair-rods outside. There's a cold wind and lots of lightning out over the ocean, the sea is roughening up and my thoughts are turning towards the purchase of a heater or two for this oh-so-australian under-insulated apartment.
