Outside the Caltex gas station a little way around the corner from home this morning was a burst water main, geysering water about twenty feet into the air, steadily undermining the roots of a small tree and depositing muddy sediments all over the road.
I've never actually seen one do that before and it made a change to see the water going up rather than down (it's been raining extravagently here over the last few days).
