Eariler this week, in what is believed to be a fishermans prank, someone placed a Port Jackson shark into the swimming pool nearby (not Queenscliff, Fairy Bower). Found all around the southern part of Australia (Brisbane to Perth more or less), they are, according to the paper essentially harmless.
From the picture in the paper I'd guess it wasn't quite three feet in length and was easily removed by a handler. Harmless or not, I'd have been very enlived on finding it sharing my swimming pool in the morning.
