Venus rising

We have a tenant change over at the moment, and there are a number of minor things that need doing to the house before he (Adam) moves in next weekend. Our previous tenants have been unhelpful during moving out - I don't think that it's malicious just being busy, but the nett effect is the same.

One of the problems was the lock on the external gate. It appears as though there has been a problem with it for some time (ie, not locking). Anyway we arranged for a friend (Jon) to be there when the locksmith came as they won't attend without someone representing the owner there.

Anyway, despite my worst fears, they turned up, the job was done and it cost £75 (plus a box of beer for Jon for his efforts). All this was I was snoozing.

I woke up at 0430 and decided to try and ring the lock guys to see how things went. I'm not quite used to the time differences yet, it's all a bit wonky and it was much easier in NZ when it was a simple 11/13 hrs.

Anyway, it was outside of business hours when I awoke (and could not get back to sleep). So after being up for a while, I got this picture instead. All things considered, it wasn't all bad.

If you look closely, between the two trees (about 1cm higher than the tall one), you can see my friend Venus who I see most mornings at the moment. She looks like a tiny white pixel in this version - I guess she's unphotogenic.
