Easy work

Back in the day during my stint at Clivedon House as a car parking fella, Kieron, myself and the other staff there used to relish the cold, wet days that so typically came with the onset of summer. Only the hardiest visitors to the 300+ acres of gardens would brave inclement weather and as a result even a moron in a hurry could usually manage to lurch into the car park without requiring assistance.

So, here we are nearly 20 years later and around 19,000 kilometers away from the former home of Lord and Lady Astor and it is much the same on the beach outside the window. It's warm (ish), but the sky is leaden and grey and the rain while generally light has been falling pretty much steadily for a couple of days now.

30 Meters away are the customary red and yellow flags fluttering in the breeze that designate the life saver patrolled areas (three of them along the ful length of what we'd call Manly beach, but is technically 3 seperate areas), but no foolish punters for the life savers to practice on. The only people out there today are the surfers who for obvious reasons don't really mind a bit of wet.

I think it will be another quiet day for the Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club.
