Hot stuff | Wednesday, November 22, 2006 |
Phew! First of the real warm ones today with temperatures in Sydney peaking at 39c. Popping out at lunch was like walking into an oven with a warm, no, hot breeze being channel up under the bottom of my sunnies.
Gillian and I planned to zoom home and ignoring a short detour to the veg shop (necessary) we planned to jump straight in the ocean.
Some onions, strawberries and sundry other items required to furnish us with eight portions of sweet and sour pork later we're home just in time for the sun to go in and the wind to pick up and ablate people from the beach.
Hardy souls that we are we braved the water anyway and although the air temperature felt some distance from the lunchtime high this of course make little difference to the water. Chilly at first but free of stingers and really not to bad after a minute or too.
A welcome pause between work and a manic kitchen frenzy.
