2007 is here already! After renewing a subscription product with Microsoft for the princely sum of $512 I'm in the process of rebuilding my laptop with fully licensed, release copies of Vista and Office 2007 (the subscription includes 10 copies of everything they make, excluding development tools so while it's not cheap, it's much better value than buying licenses piecemeal)
Vista is easy enough to get on with, but there's going to be a real shock for people with Office 2007. I've been using it now for several months and I'm still finding it very different. In time, I think it will be a great improvement, but right now it's just frustrating.
In some respects being I think it's reasonable to say, aboive averagely competent has it's downside. All the keyboard shortcuts that I've had 10 years to get to know and where the features that do x or y are, have now vanished, and so, I suppose newer users will find the transition easier.
Keeps the old neurons firing though!
