On Tuesday I was surprised that it took me nearly two hours to get to work, normally it shouldn’t take more then an hour and a half.
I had been hearing on the radio that the Queen Mary 2, a cruise ship, was scheduled to come into Sydney but loads of cruise ships come in so I didn’t see what the fuss was. Thousands of Sydney residents did though and the result was traffic chaos.
The Queen Mary 2 was docked at Garden Island for a few hours and then the QE2 came in and docked at Circular Quay. There were fireworks and huge traffic jams.
The NSW Premier Morris Iemma has “taken responsibility for the debacle”.
I haven’t heard a convincing explanation yet of what was so interesting about two cruise ships visiting, even if one of them is the biggest liner to ever visit Sydney.
