- It's a lot warmer than I had expected. Good old global warming.
- Pints are quite big.
- Redheads (and largely glamourous ones at that). They're everywhere.
- Asians. Very few.
- Much less congestion than Sydney. Good ol' Ken.
- Oyster cards. How did we ever get on with out them and standardised fares?
- I have established that I still hate travelling for work, and that in all probability there will be quite a bit more this year. On the plus side, they'll likely result in business class flights. Time will tell.
- English food really can be good (as a trip to St. John with a friend proved).
The police look like proper police rather than mechanics with guns. - Warm English beer is still good.
- Estuary English really is poor.
- I miss the brightly coloured parrot things and raucous Cockatoo's. Funny how quickly you get used to things.
- Houses look dirty and old. I understand what newly arrived people mean now.
More highbrow thoughts on the capital later. Probably.
