Queer and nasty

Friday, March 09, 2007

Before coming to Australia I worked with someone who hailed from this wide brown land. QANTAS he said, stood for "Queer and nasty, take another service".

Perhaps it's one's patroitic duty to bag out the national carrier of your home country, as I've never found any real reason to call BA "the world's favourite airline", but I have to say that my flights to and from London recently were pretty good.

On the way out, the flight was jam packed and despite a momentary disappointment arrising after leaving Thailand because the fish curry meal option wasn't available as the other economy class Gannets had already eaten it, it really wasn't bad.

The return leg was even better. On both legs the plane was probably about 2/3 full (so, no meal worries there), and I ended up with two seats to myself (more or less - the french guy at the other end of our block of 3 showed no sign of increasing his empire, so more or less by default it was waterloo all over again)

I inquired in case the Wednesday flight from London was always quiet, but this appears to have been just one of those things.
