When animals attack! | Sunday, April 15, 2007 |
Last week one of the local beaches was closed briefly as a 3m long shark was spotted by an ariel patrol. Harbord/Freshwater beach, may or not have been where the drama took place - I can't remember now, but 3m is a respectable size for a fish.
People went out to look for it, but the waters were a bit murky following a few days of heavy rain. The beach re-opened without incident, and certainly without skeletal remains being washed up and devoured by crabs (al-a Jaws)
Yestarday North of Perth, a teenage girl was visciously and cruelly attacked by a Sea Lion while surfing. The 300kg beast cut her face (the sealion, that is) and knocked out a few teeth. As a teenage girl, she probably started it.
