Laundry, originally uploaded by GFR.

I don’t recall if Simon wrote at the end of December about our hot water cylinder failing one morning and needing to be replaced.
The replacement was quick and efficient but the installer needed to take the dryer off the wall as hot water cylinders now have more insulation than they used to and the wall brackets for the dryer are too far over.

The dryer now sits on top of the washing machine and overheats and cuts out when trying to dry anything more substantial than a couple of tea towels. You can’t just move the dryer across as the taps for the washing machine are in the way.

The laundry has had plenty of visitors. The handyman has arrived, measured, shaken his head and gone away. Rebecca, the letting agent from Elders, has come around, bringing her boss, and they have measured, shaken their heads and gone away. The plumber has been and quoted. Apparently the quote is too high so the landlady wants to send her own plumber to quote, and in the meantime she would like a photograph of the laundry.

As the laundry is rapidly becoming the most visited place on the apartment I thought I might share this picture, in case you would also like some input on the best way to get the dryer back on the wall.
